***Tasks Company to Sustain Masses-Oriented Programs
The APC Solidarity (APC-SF) Forum has hailed Dangote Petroleum Refinery as a beacon of hope for Nigerians following its bold move to slash the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre.
In a statement by its leader, Comrade John Attah, the group said this laudable initiative has brought immense relief to millions of Nigerians, particularly during the festive season.
According to Attah, the forum initially had concerns that the refinery’s dominance in the market could lead to a monopoly.
However, he conceded that the company’s actions have not only allayed these fears but have also demonstrated its commitment to prioritising the needs of the masses.
“The refinery’s innovative approach to fuel pricing has sent a strong signal that it is dedicated to making life easier for Nigerians,” Attah said.
“By offering a special purchase offer that allows consumers to buy an extra litre on credit, secured by a bank guarantee, Dangote Refinery has shown that it is willing to go the extra mile to support the nation’s economy.
“We are thrilled to see Dangote Refinery taking the lead in providing affordable fuel to Nigerians.
“Their efforts to end our nation’s dependency on substandard and blended imported fuels are a testament to their commitment to Nigeria’s growth and development.”
Attah added that the refinery’s partnership with MRS Petrol station to sell petrol at N935 per litre from its retail outlets nationwide is a clear indication that the company is committed to ensuring that the benefits of its price reduction reach the end consumers.
“We commend Dangote Refinery for its bold initiative and urge the company to sustain its masses’ oriented programs,” the statement added.
“We believe that this is just the beginning of a new era of affordable fuel prices in Nigeria, and we look forward to seeing more innovative solutions from the refinery.
“We call on other stakeholders in the petroleum industry to take a cue from Dangote Refinery and prioritise the needs of Nigerians”.
