CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM MAKES US DO BETTER: FALSE NARRATIVE WONT DETER US-LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE CHAIRMAN

Following days of sustained enforcement operations by men of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce), to abate and ultimately sanitize locations burdened by avoidable gridlock in Lagos, feedback and reactions have continued to pour in from Lagosians, with the greatest number of the feedback, commending and urging the agency to sustain, monitor and extend the exercise to all areas faced with the nuisance of unnatural gridlock being caused by habitual traffic law violators in the state.
Expectedly, the reactions and feedback, are mostly gleaned from the social media handles of the agency which include the Facebook, Lagos State Taskforce, Twitter, now rechristened as X, @taskforce112 and the; a lot of the reactions and feedback also emanate from face to face deliveries by the Lagos citizenry.
However, in the words of the Chairman, Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce), CSP Akerele Adetayo, false alarm and negative narratives, are some of the occupational hazards faced by the agency, thus, they are expected but will never deter them from carrying out the statutory duty of the agency, with the highest possible standard of professionalism, discipline and integrity, all within the ambit of the law.
CSP Akerele, said, in less than two weeks of his assumption of office as Taskforce Chairman, he is glad that officers and men of the agency have quickly keyed in to the roadmap to bring about sanity in their area of responsibility; he added that, they are focused on the goal and will always welcome constructive feedback and criticism in order to do better, while, reiterating that, false alarm, negative narratives and unsubstantiated reportage, wouldn’t deter or derail the taskforce team on the task to correct anomalies in the environment and transport sector jurisdictions under the agency’s purview.
We are not oblivious of the fact that people affected by the lawful duties of the taskforce will employ all manner of gimmicks to sway emotions falsely, however, my door is always wide open to receive genuine complaints of any form of misapplication of mandate by officers of the agency; Lagosians are assured that, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against any personnel found to have acted unprofessionally, CSP Akerele added.
